Pepscope is a Rotterdam-based biotech company developing tailored, in-depth kinome and protein profiling technologies. Using kinase substrate microarrays and cutting-edge mass spectrometry technologies, we profile protein activities in cells and tissues, including protein kinases. With these novel insights, we aim to accelerate drug development and enable precision medicine. In addition, we develop diagnostic profiling tools to improve cancer treatment and early detection of glioblastoma and colon cancer. Role Overview:

You will lead in-house scientific and service projects, with a practical involvement in running proteomics projects. We expect you to maintain and initiate extensive interactions with internal and external stakeholders. You are pushing scientific development and innovation at Pepscope, with a keen eye for business aspects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, carry out and lead scientific projects.
  • Provide scientific support to customers and collaborators.
  • Write and present project summaries and reports.
  • Give scientific presentations.
  • Write scientific papers.
  • Train junior staff and internship students.
  • Stay up-to date with the scientific literature and developments in the field.

Qualifications and experience:

  • A PhD or equivalent experience in life sciences and practical experience with cell biology and protein analysis.
  • Deep knowledge of and experience with mass spectrometry technology is a must.
  • Experience with microarrays and analysis tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of signal transduction pathways and tumor biology is preferred.
  • Experience with running and coordinating projects.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
